La sirène du Mississipi (the international title is Mississipi Mermaid) is a drama by director François Truffaut, based on a novel by Cornell Woolrich. The protagonist is a man blinded by love for a beautiful blonde woman (Catherine Deneuve), which leads him to succumb.
